What and Where Did You Study?

I studied European Business Studies and International Marketing at Nottingham Trent University. It was like an organic progression from my PR degree that I achieved in Milan.

I won a scholarship after my final exams at Milan University and they were affiliated with the Nottingham University.

What Was the Best / Worst Thing About Your Course?

The best bit was experiencing how foreign universities ran their daily courses and lessons as well as increasing my knowledge of international marketing. The worst thing was studying new lessons in a foreign language. Double pressure indeed!

What Was the Best / Worst Thing About Studying Abroad?

The best thing was improving the command of English language whilst enjoying a brand new experience and freedom. The worst thing was perhaps a bit of home sickness at the beginning, it was my first time moving abroad and living without my family.

Would You Do Anything Different?

No, not really, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Infact if I could go back in time, I would repeat the same experience.

Would You Recommend Studying Away From Home?

Absolutely. It was the bravest thing I’ve probably done, but it was a bold decision that has definitely changed my life.

What Advice Would You Give to Students Who Are Thinking About Studying Abroad?

Immerse yourself in the new culture: learn, experience, try. I would also advise to (at least) try the new food on offer and not to be too snobby about different tastes: you may end liking it.

What Happened After You Graduated?

I now work at Hallam Internet as Digital PR Specialist and thoroughly enjoy it. Many students end up entering different careers to what they studied for, so I consider myself lucky and blessed to do what I like doing.

The best part of my job is the variety of clients’ sectors and industries we look after. B2B as well as B2C. This means you can never get bored and no day is ever the same.
