OVERVIEW

This course is for all levels of leadership experience: future, aspiring, middle and senior leaders. This Master's degree will enable you to:

UEL's Master's degree in Leadership in Education will develop the critical thinking and leadership skills you require to drive change and improvement in your educational context. We tackle issues from current, educational policy to evidence-driven improvement approaches and educational research that you can use to drive change in your setting at any level of leadership.

Credits and exit points: PG Cert (60), PG Dip (120), MA (180).

You may have already completed an NPQ, National College Leadership course or other Master’s accredited modules that you can use to gain credits towards the MA Leadership in Education.

YOUR FUTURE CAREER

This course will enable you to develop your leadership skills and ability to lead change to meet the needs of staff and learners in educational contexts. It is suitable for all levels, from aspirational leaders to those in an existing leadership role.

The course can support candidates to continue to develop in future leadership roles, and leadership opportunities or to develop others to lead in future as teachers, lecturers or courses facilitators. Candidates will also be able to offer consultancy services, guidance and advice depending on where they are positioned regarding their leadership roles.

Furthermore, the course offers a module focusing on coaching and mentoring which will enable future leaders to support others in their personal development effectively or to develop others to coach and mentor well too.

The course offers Leading Change with CMI accreditation and Applied Research Project with CMI accreditation for the CMI Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management, and Developing Leadership Capability for Change with CMI accreditation for the CMI Level 7 Certificate in Coaching and mentoring at £279 per certificate.

Modules

This module focuses on how leaders need to strategically reflect on the change they need to lead in their contexts. This includes the ethical considerations you need to make to ensure that you are able to lead change effectively and lead your team(s) with integrity and skill.
